The flesh-store in size with a stamp is developed

The scientific group consisting of experts Toshiba and employees of Tokyo university Kejo (Keio University) has developed the new technology, allowing to reduce the sizes of solid-state stores by 90 percent. To researchers, led by professor Tadahiro Kuroda (Tadahiro Kuroda), also it was possible to achieve decrease in consumption of energy for 70 percent in comparison with modern models, writes.
Use of new technology will allow to make the solid-state store (Solid State Drive, a SSD-disk) volume 1 terabyte which sizes will not exceed size of a stamp. The prototypes developed by scientific group have such sizes.
New SSD-disks will consist of 128 chips NAND of flesh-memory and the chip - controller. They are capable to pass the data with a speed of 2 gigabits a second and are based on a principle of near magnetic signals (short-range magnetic signal). According to researchers, this way of data transfer results in essential decrease{reduction} in industrial expenses in comparison with traditional ways of connection of NAND-chips.
SSD-disks are applied in leptop, the Internet and game consoles. For comparison, the sizes of SSD-disk Toshiba THNS512GG8BB in volume of 512 gigabytes, Scientists expect, that ready decisions on the basis of new technology will appear in the market in 2012.
